BMW’s next-generation M5 sedan is available in the electric and plug-in hybrid model. The M5 features three different electric motors that make 1000 horsepower. The hybrid model features twin-turbo V8 making 750 horsepower.
BMW M5 covers a range of 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds also they have an electric version of 3-series, 5-series, 7-series, and X1. M5 has three electric motors that generate 335 horsepower with front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive that has a total output of 1000 horsepower. It has major competitors Porsche Taycan Turbo S with two electric motors that produce 750 horsepower, and Tesla Model S Performance model that makes 778 horsepower.
Available in plug-in hybrid powertrain
2021 BMW M5 has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that makes a 617 horsepower. M5 is available in the hybrid version same which is available is X8 M SUV. The hybrid powertrain generates a conventional output of 750 horsepower with four-wheel-drive.
BMW has said they will be launching 25 electric vehicles by 2023. The models available in the electric powertrain are BMW i3, i4, iNext, 5-series, 7-series, and X1.
